‘Green’ Resolution for 2019
Happy New Year from all of us here at Ecodek.
We hope everyone had a lovely holiday and enjoyed their Christmas festivities. As we have entered the New Year, it’s the perfect time for resolutions. Of course we understand that some people might already have set their goals for 2019, however it’s never too late to add another one to the list.
We would like to encourage everyone to make this year one of waste reduction and green economy. It’s common knowledge we need to protect planet Earth and all inhabitants of it, people as well as wildlife. We would like to share some simple yet effective suggestions with you.
Purchasing reusable water bottles and refilling them instead of buying single use plastic bottles will result in lower plastic pollution. It will additionally allow you to save some money over a long term. Single use plastic bottles cause large amounts of pollution, so a reusable bottle is a great alternative. When going shopping, make sure you prepare yourself and take a reusable shopping bag instead of buying plastic ones at the till. There is large variety of eco-friendly shopping bags available to purchase online or even in stores. Some even fold right down, allowing them to be kept on you at all times to make sure you don’t forget to take them with you.
Ensure that you know what the products you’re planning to buy are made of. Make sure they’re eco-friendly and made sustainably. ecodek® is made out of sustainably sourced wood and recycled plastics (HDPE taken from recycled milk bottles!). ecodek® is also fully recyclable, and its manufacture is a carbon negative process. We make sure our product is not only gorgeous and sturdy, but also eco-friendly. Additionally we offer buy back scheme. If you have any leftover pieces of our decking after you’re done with your project, we are more than happy to take it off your hands so it can be recycled. There is plenty of other ways to reduce your carbon footprint and support the green economy. These can include biking or walking instead of driving and using rechargeable batteries instead of single use ones. Try to get the most out of your products, and consider an alternative use for them if you think you’re not in need of it anymore, this is called upcycling. If your New Year resolution already included green economy and sustainably in it, make sure to share it with us.
